Goal Semiconductor Promises Shortest Lead-Times For FLASH 8051 MCUs

MONTREAL—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Oct. 28, 2004— While many of today's FLASH 8051 microcontroller manufacturers offer lead-times of 12 to 30 weeks, Goal Semiconductor can deliver its low-cost 8051s from stock to 4 weeks.

Drop-in replacement

Goal's VERSA Microcontroller Families of cost-effective, FLASH 8051-based microcontrollers are pin-to-pin/drop-in replacements for industry standard MCUs. "Goal Semiconductor anticipated the industry-wide lead-time problem and, therefore, invested in both inventory and short-turnaround capacity. As a result, we are in a position to supply the most commonly used 3.3 and 5 Volt 8051 microcontrollers in 4 weeks or less, at a competitive price", says Goal VP of Sales John Zambakkides.

Some of Goal's popular FLASH densities, available in PLCC-44, QFP-44 and DIP-40:

8051 MCUs FLASH RAM
--------------------------------------------------
VRS1000 64KB ISP/IAP 1KB
--------------------------------------------------
VRS5XX 64KB, 32KB, 16KB, 1KB, 256B, 128B
              8KB, 4KB

Single-chip solution for embedded data acquisition

In addition to its drop-in replacements parts, Goal also offers low-cost, SoC solutions for signal conditioning, data acquisition, processing and control applications with its VERSA MIX Family (VMXxxxx) of fully-integrated mixed-signal 8051 microcontrollers.
